My name is Hector. I started saywhathector.com as a hobby to share my opinions, views, and outlooks on issues and topics that relate to me or to products I use and endorse.
Just a little about myself: I was born in Central America, Nicaragua to be exact, and my parents brought me to the states when I was 3 months old. I grew up in Richmond, California where I lived until I joined the Navy at the age of 22 in 2001. I actually enlisted on 9/11, and even though the U.S. was entering a war, I continued on with my enlistment. I served 5 years as a Machinist Mate 2nd class onboard the USS Norfolk SSN-714, a fast attack submarine. I went through multiple missions, deployments, and many, many months underwater.
I was honorably discharged in the summer of 2006 and reentered the civilian world. Fortunately for me, my transition from military to civilian life was successful, so I want to share in this blog how I did that. In addition, I’ve been told that when I talk about or debate issues I offer good points and perspectives others never considered. So, I thought, why not share these?
Please feel free to let me know your opinions—critical or complimentary—to help me make this blog better. I look forward to sharing with you and hearing from you.
